Member Community Benefits
The Furniture Bank Community exists to support existing furniture banks as they pursue their missions and to support and encourage new furniture banks as they get started in their communities. Community members have the opportunity to gather and share best practices, explore new possibilities, receive corporate furniture donations through Furniture Link’s activity and collaborate to establish standards that we can leverage in our communities.
The FB Community is guided by the members, working in advisory groups who are team members in their own furniture bank organizations. Together, they work to make “best practice” reference materials available to members via the website library and inform Furniture Link’s activities to match corporate relationships to meet the local needs of the community member.
Beyond the ‘Gather and Share Network’ found here on this website, we will look to raise funds from corporate sponsors to allow a two-day semi-annual Conference that is hosted by an a community Member’s organization.

Alliance members will gather their favourite ‘how to’ manuals, guides. Example include:
- How to Handle Tax Receipts
- How to Calculate Social Impact
- How to Do a Chair Affair
- Board Reports that Work!
Examples of grant writing, language, metrics, and asks that have worked. Let’s not have to reinvent the wheel when seeking funding. This includes annual appeals, 3rd party fundraisers, government grants etc..
